Intro

My work, in both watercolor and colored pencil, exudes a spiritual quality that reflects my special connection with my subjects, things which inspire me and which I find to be beautiful. A native of Southern California, I studied English at Biola University and Art at Mira Costa College. I completed my masters degree in Library Science at the University of Arizona. I worked outside of the art field for a number of years and returned to my artistic interests full-time in 2004. I won a commission to paint the Stations of the Cross for St. Bede's Episcopal Church outside Portland, Oregon. Since then I have been awarded additional commissions including a watercolor of lupines and several colored pencil drawings of various fruits and vegetables.

My body of work is varied and, along with my commissioned works, I have painted a number of subjects from family pets to botanicals.

I finished up a year of studying watercolor at Lane Community College, and am getting ready to apply the things I've learned to a new series of paintings. I want to continue working with tropical plants and floral images, as well as my doors. I did start the door series but I ran into some snags along the way...so I hope to apply some new techniques to my original idea. I have plenty of ideas for imagery and paintings that I want to create, so I hope you will continue to look forward to the new work that I will be completing in the coming year.

I reside in Eugene, Oregon with my husband and three cats. Along with my painting and drawing, I enjoy hiking in the Oregon forests and along the coast, as well as putting my energy into decorating my home and landscaping my yard.

I am currently a member of the Lane Arts Council Board of Directors and the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
